Our Mission & Vision
Every Life Has Value.
Every Story Can Change.
Homelessness isn’t just about a lack of shelter. It’s about a lack of relationships. It’s feeling unseen, alone and often without hope.
We believe that humans are made in the image of God and therefore, every life has inherent value. We believe life transformation is possible, and achievable with Christ-centered compassion.
At Bread of Life Mission, we believe every person deserves genuine hope, dignity, and a path toward wholeness. Since 1939, we’ve served Seattle’s most vulnerable by helping them move from surviving to stability.

Hope
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound
— Isaiah 61:1
Healing
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
— Psalm 147:3
Recovery
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Statement of Faith
While recognizing and respecting the various differences, doctrinal and otherwise, among denominations and churches, this Mission affirms its adherence to the following statement of faith:
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, ultimately authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is Deity, that He was born of a virgin, that we are redeemed by His atoning death through His shed blood, that He bodily resurrected and ascended into heaven, and that He will come again in power and great glory.
4. We believe that individuals are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord, at which time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom Christ indwells each believer, enabling him or her to live in relationship with Him and to live a godly life of obedience as he or she reaches for maturity.
6. We believe the Holy Spirit unites all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one body, the church.
